Vacation with a dog at Lake Weissensee
Your dog is an integral part of your family – of course he is also very welcome here at the Seehotel Kärntnerhof. Between the sea breeze, meadow adventures and lots of lovely details, nothing stands in the way of your vacation together.
Vacations with your dog at the Kärntnerhof - what to consider
In our new garden and meadow apartments, you can arrive together with your dog, switch off and enjoy. These are specially reserved for guests with dogs – please let us know when booking that you are traveling with a dog.
Unfortunately, your dog is not allowed in the dining room, but is welcome on the terrace and in the restaurant – on a lead. While you’re having breakfast or coffee, your darling can enjoy a bowl of fresh Carinthian water.
Leashes are compulsory on the entire hotel grounds and in the local area. Our large sunbathing lawn with lake access belongs to you – and your four-legged friends – between 6:00 and 8:00 and from 19:00 to 21:00. Please be considerate of other guests and dogs.
If your room needs to be cleaned, simply let us know using the door sign. If your dog is alone in the apartment, we prefer to leave you undisturbed – so as not to frighten anyone.
Walks, hikes & excursions with dogs around the lake
Many beautiful walks and hiking trails start directly from the hotel – sometimes leisurely along the lake, sometimes sporty up to the alpine pasture. Please note: At some excursion destinations, such as the Weissensee boat trip, muzzles are compulsory in addition to leashes.
Ask at reception for dog-friendly tips – we know the best spots for two- and four-legged friends!
What do I need to bring? What do you get from us?
Please bring your own dog bed or your four-legged friend’s favorite blanket. The couch and bed belong to our two-legged friends. Please also take care of food, treats, leash and muzzle yourself.
We are here for everything else:
- Dog waste bags & garbage can right by the side entrance
- A water trough for washing paws
- Dog towels for drying off
- Fresh water in the restaurant & on the terrace
If something breaks or gets very dirty, please just let us know. Then we can quickly put it back in order. In the case of heavier soiling, a cleaning fee from € 50 may be charged (depending on the effort involved). And if something should happen: You can find vets in Greifenburg and Hermagor . We will be happy to help you in an emergency.
