Thanks to the altitude of 930 m above sea level, it never gets tropically hot, even in midsummer. Early in the morning, riverside paths, forests and alpine pastures invite you to spend some sporting hours – before the sun is high in the sky. Those who like to be active can run, cycle or hike – at temperatures that are good for the body and circulation.
And after the exercise, the lake awaits: crystal clear, refreshing and ideal for swimming, stand-up paddling or simply relaxing. Shady spots under old trees on our lakeside meadow invite you to linger – with the gentle lapping of the up to 26°C warm water in the background.

At Lake Weissensee, children of all ages are right in the middle of things, instead of just being there. Our natural paradise is full of adventures, small wonders and big discoveries.
For example, the dwarf town invites you to discover, build and play, to balance, jump and laugh by the tree that juts out into the lake– and the surrounding nature becomes the biggest adventure playground, without any entrance fee, but with endless possibilities.
Highlight for little captains:
The children’s captain adventure tour takes place every week from the end of June to the end of August. Every child can take the wheel, discover the lake from the water and receive a “Weissensee children’s captain” certificate at the end.
